Congratulations to our partners at Full Circle Communities, Inc on the groundbreaking of Raymond E. Shepherd Housing in Ferndale, MI! This development is a direct response to the needs of the community, specifically its notable LGBTQ+ and elderly populations in need of affordable housing.
Named after Raymond E. Shepherd, a local LGBTQ+ activist and advocate, this apartment complex will bring 53 permanent supportive housing (PSH) units to the metropolitan Detroit area with a focus on creating an affirmative and inclusive place for LGBTQ+ residents and helping seniors age in place. All units are affordable for households earning at or below 60% of the area median income (AMI) with 3 units set to 30% AMI and 19 apartments are PSH with a preference for LGBTQ+ elders.
NEF is proud to support the efforts to expand the access to stable, safe, and affordable housing, especially to underserved populations like this one.
