Team NEF recently attended the groundbreaking of 340+ Dixwell, a new development in New Haven, CT that will be the first-ever LIHTC complex to be made with a mass timber structure and technology system, which utilizes wood from a renewable forest. This development will bring 69 total units to the area, with 55 being reserved for low-income families.
The impact of the mass timber structure speaks to NEF’s dedication to Environmental Social Governance (ESG), bringing together an approach focused on conservation, building relationships and maintaining business standards and ethics. In addition to executing the innovative timber system, which will allow materials to store carbon dioxide rather than emitting greenhouse gases, the building will also be energy efficient, implementing sustainable features Passive House design principles.
We are grateful for this partnership with investors TD and our wonderful developer partners HELP USA, Beulah Land Development Corp and Spiritos Properties. This is an incredible collaboration that will benefit families, the environment and the community at large!
