Congratulations to our partners at The Core Companies and The Veterans Collective on the groundbreaking at MacArthur Field on the West Lost Angeles VA North Campus! NEF is proud to have invested along with U.S. Bank in this exciting new affordable housing development.
MacArthur Field (Phase A) will offer 74 homes to homeless or at-risk Veterans with special needs earning at or below 30 and 50 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) plus one manager's unit. All units will be in one three-story building, meet ADA accessibility standards, and have access to an elevator. Residents will have direct access to supportive services from New Directions for Veterans and the medical center from within the VA campus.
Our very own Debbie Burkart attended and spoke at the event (pictured with Chris Neale, President of The Core Companies) along with other distinguished state officials, community representatives, war heroes and Veterans.
This permanent supportive housing development is an important first step in combatting and Veteran homelessness in Los Angeles and ensuring that those who have served our country have stable, safe, and affordable places to call home.
