"Debbie Burkart has been a leading force in creating permanent supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness, veterans, disabled, and nursing home-eligible older adults across the country. During a 30-plus-year career at National Equity Fund (NEF), she, along with her colleagues, have helped finance and underwrite an estimated 30,000 affordable and supportive homes, often for the most vulnerable residents in a community.” (Affordable Housing Finance article)
NEF is thrilled to announce that our very own Debbie Burkart is being inducted into the 2022 Affordable Housing Hall of Fame!
For more than three decades, Debbie has made countless contributions to #affordablehousing and #supportivehousing, creating strategic plans to focus on providing consistent services for people who need them most. One of her many initiatives was Bring Them HOMES, which developed approximately 6,000 units in 22 states and Washington, D.C., for veterans and their families.
Her strong understanding of federal, state and local policymaking empowers her to advocate for a smarter approach to integrating services with housing. And her vast knowledge and years of expertise allow her to serve on several boards that help drive impact in the industry, including CSH, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans and LA Family Housing.
A critical thinker, problem solver, motivator, and pioneer in every sense of the word, we are honored to have Deb as a member of our team and as a 2022 inductee. We cannot wait to celebrate this momentous occasion at AHF Live: The Affordable Housing Developers Summit, Nov. 14-16, in Chicago.
Congratulations on this tremendous recognition!
