Congratulations to our partners at the Northern Lights Development (Aurora Housing Authority) and Hope Bound Development Corporation (Housing Authority of Joliet) on the groundbreaking at 1449 Senior Estates in Aurora, IL! This will be the first new subdivision built in Aurora in nearly 50 years — how exciting!
The 70 units of affordable housing will be home to very low- and low-income seniors (age 62+) and include a clubhouse, pickleball courts, and an outdoor community area. All units will be subsidized by project-based section 8 vouchers to seniors earning 30%, 50%, and 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI). 1449 Senior Estates revives vacant land that used to belong to Jericho Circle public housing complex and will once again provide safe, stable, and affordable housing to many elderly people in need.
